The
Author's Lounge was started by Patricia Foltz in 2006.
Patricia has always had a love of reading, since she
was a small child. She has worked closely with authors
and publishers since 2004.
In the
past few years, Patricia has learned how much is
involved for authors to promote and sell their books and
decided she would do something to help. She did just
that, by creating and running The Author's Lounge
website.
Patricia doesn't want this site to be just about selling
books though, she thinks it is very important to know
our readers as well. It is you, the readers that allow
authors to share a part of who they are, and what they
are about.. Love, hope, joy, sorrow, sadness, fun,
creativity, and knowledge. Some of those things are a
part of who they are and also a part of who you are. So
we hope you will take a few minutes and get to know our
authors and then come and visit us on our blog site.
Hopefully you will give us the chance to know who you
are as well.
Janis
Susan May is proud of being a seventh-generation Texan.
She has written most of her life, everything from ad
copy to 13 novels. In addition, she has been editor in
chief of two multi-magazine publishing groups, a singer,
an actress, Supervisor of Accessioning in a bio-genetic
DNA lab, and a jewelry designer, as well as a number of
other things, including dabbling in Egyptology. She
founded, edited and published a Newsletter which for the
nine years of her tenure was the only monthly
publication for the American Research Center in Egypt.
While her Naval Captain husband is serving his second
deployment to Iraq she is supervising some
long-anticipated remodeling to their Texas home.
Those
of you who know a writer will understand the quirky
eccentricities that are part of their basic nature. More
often than not, they are introverted, mysterious, absorbed
in thought and shy away from over stimulating
environments.
I have overcome most of these obstacles by developing a
sense of humor. It's not like I made it my life's goal or
anything like that, it just sort of happened. At the age
of two, I was a head-banger. Yes, I would sit for hours
and just bounce my head off the back of the couch. I
believe it was this activity that contributed to cracking
my inner shell of creativity.
After years of my right brain arm wrestling my left brain,
they finally apologized, shook hands, made peace with each
other and negotiated a compromise. That turned out to be
writing. I hired a professional pacer. This helped me to
conserve energy while going through my creative process. I
would just watch him walk back and forth across the room
as I banged my head on the back of the couch and a
fountain of ideas would flow forth. But that was last
year.

I am A. Dee Carey I
write fantasy romance. My main reason for doing so is
to escape the madness that is reality. In the worlds I
create the good guys always win, the devil is always
thwarted and everyone lives happily ever after. I
choose to write about foxes. In each of my tales one of
the main characters has the ability to change from fox
to human or from human to fox. I employ parts of
Arthurian legend and throw in a little religion for
spice.
I started writing late
in life, though it was always a life long dream. I
served everyone else's needs and finally determined it
is my turn. My home is filled with foxes, pictures,
statues and one actual fox (it's stuffed, my daughter
gave it to me for Christmas.) I find that images are
what stiimulates new stories. I'll see a fox and then
quickly turn to "What if?"
Totally devoted to the
fox vein I have a tattoo of a fox on my left leg, just
above the knee (don't get hinky.) It was applied by the
order of Merlin and denotes me as the "True Druid
Teller."
I live in upstate New
York with my husband Bill .and share my life with my
children, daughters Casey and Kelly and their sons (one
each) Nik and Bill. Bill and I have been married for 48
years and each year is better than the last. I look
forward to a long and prosperous relationship with TAL.

Leanne Burroughs enjoys
reading, writing, and traveling. Most recently she
traveled to Norway to do research for an upcoming Viking
epic. The year before, she traveled to Ireland, where she
fell in love with the beautiful countryside and its Viking
history. She’s also traveled to England, Spain, France,
and Hawaii in search of stories waiting to be told! Her
absolute favorite place to visit, however, is the lovely
country of Scotland. Its beauty is beyond words, and the
friendliness of its people is incomparable. In Florida,
she can often be found at Disney World - with or without
her grandchildren.
While doing genealogy research for her
husband, she fell in love with Scottish history. That led
to the novel HIGHLAND WISHES, a historical novel about
Scotland’s War for Independence. Its sequel, HER HIGHLAND
ROGUE, was originally released in 2005 and has just been
re-released. She currently has several other novels in
progress. KEEPER OF THE STARS, a novel about the Battle of
Culloden and its aftermath is her current work in
progress. THE POWER AND THE PASSION is the Viking epic.
The third story in the Scottish War for Independence
trilogy is also being worked on. In addition, Leanne is
participating in several anthologies. The first, NO LAW
AGAINST LOVE, is a romantic anthology of silly laws still
on the books. Proceeds from this anthology are being
donated to breast cancer research and treatment. Other
anthologies she has participated in are: BLUE MOON MAGIC,
BLUE MOON ENCHANTMENT, CHRISTMAS WISHES, HOLIDAY IN THE
HEART, RECIPE FOR LOVE, LOVE UNDER THE MISTLETOE, and
ROMANCE UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR.
Both of her Scottish historicals have won
numerous national and international awards, as have her
short stories/novellas. Be sure to check out Leanne's
website at:

In addition to her writing, Leanne is the owner of
HIGHLAND PRESS PUBLISHING, which just won Publisher of the
Year at
EcataRomance.com! Now in its third year, Highland
Press is making itself felt in the publishing world. It's
books are eligible for all contests, including RWA's RITA
award. All books come out as print books first, but may
also be released as ebooks after the fact if that is the
wish of the author. Numerous Highland Press books have won
awards. Our newest award is Favorite Single Title of the
Year for 2007 by

Ramona
K. Cecil is a wife,
mother, grandmother, free-lance poet, and award-winning
inspirational romance writer. Now empty-nesters, she and
her husband make their home in Indiana. A member of
American Christian Fiction Writers and American Christian
Fiction Writers Indiana Chapter, her work has won awards
in a number of inspirational writing contests. Over eighty
of her inspirational verses have been published on a wide
array of items for the Christian gift market. Her first
published novel, Larkspur, won first place in
Vintage Romance Publishing’s 2005 Vintage Inspirations
Contest. Since then, she’s had three more inspirational
historical romance novels contracted by Barbour
Publishing’s Heartsong Presents line. The first of these
three, Sweet Forever, will be released in March,
2008. The following two, Everlasting Promise and
Charity’s Heart, have not yet been assigned release
dates. Mrs. Cecil enjoys a speaking ministry, sharing her
journey to publication, while encouraging aspiring
writers. When not writing, her hobbies include reading,
gardening, and visiting places of historical interest.

Teryl Cartwright was
born in Texas, raised in Pennsylvania and lives in a world
of books. She has a degree in Elementary Education yet
admits writing has always been her first choice. She
believes that multi-tasking in life is important to stay
creative. To that end, she has held jobs as a newspaper
reporter, substitute teacher, administrative assistant,
curriculum writer and wife/mother (best of all). She has
had a play published in 2008 by Contemporary Drama Service
and is pleased that her first novel, A Sensible Match, was
released by Vintage Romance Publishing at the end of 2007.
While creativity may be a goal achieved by writing
different genres, faith and then a sense of humor get top
billing respectively. She hopes that her readers laugh
with her, become part of the story and maybe learn
something new—with many blessings on the journey together
too!

Born and raised in
Northeastern Pennsylvania in the shadows of the Pocono
Mountains and its honeymoon havens, Sylvie Kaye breathes
the air of romance daily. After getting one short story
published in 1994, she went from hooked on reading
romances to hooked on writing them.
Her years of work experience in manufacturing, as well as
varied jobs in offices, retail, and a bank, to name a few,
lent itself to writing contemporary romances. Road trips
to exciting locations in our beautiful country inspire the
settings for her stories.
She's a member of the Romance Writers of America, the New
Jersey Romance Writers, the Pocono Lehigh Romance Writers,
EPIC for electronically published authors, and PASIC, a
published author special interest chapter.
