Bolts of pure energy whizzed
through the trees, blasting craters in the ground and
turning the invading Gorg into small piles of bubbling
plasma. The forest shrieked in protest as raw power screamed
through the air, trees toppled over with a crash and
boulders exploded out of the ground. The echoes rolled away
down the mountainside, the remaining bits of power vanished

shoved my hands into my jacket pockets and started down the
hall. Jason hesitated again. This time, I wasn't worried. He
was either going to follow me, or get back in the elevator
