Abby is shocked to discover that her mother and long time friend Lady Standway, have been playing match maker. Abby is to be married to a total stranger, Lord Edwin Chapell who is to become the new Vicar of St. Thomas Church.

No way is Abby going to marry someone she does not know and most importantly does not love.

Lord Edwin Chapell is also surprised to hear the news, and questions his mother. Lady Standway tells him she made the promise years ago to a dear friend, who was like a sister to her and cannot break the promise that was made.  Lord Edwin agrees to at least meet what his mother considers to be his sensible match, and to take the arranged marriage into consideration.

In the mean time Abby is trying to figure out a way to make Lord Edwin think she is not the perfect wife for him, which only ends up confusing Lord Edwin.

Will her plan succeed? Surely God doesn’t expect her to marry someone she does not love.

A Sensible Match is a wonderful Inspirational Romance. Teryl Cartwight proves that God does know what is best, even where two interfering mothers are concerned. Not only is this book about doubt, love, romance, and even danger, it teaches us that if we just leave things in God’s hands, everything will work out the way it should.
